Greetings all,

The first night of the new, expanded, GMDL has been completed. I’m late to this posting, so it’s only one more day, and then tomorrow night we get to do it all again.

Once more I’d like to thank our new teams and sponsors for joining us. It may seem like a small change, but a 20% increase from 2023 numbers is perfect to fit the location we enjoy and welcomes us, without crowding things too much. My impression is that Monday was certainly a little tighter than last year, but not uncomfortably so.

First night stats are now posted – please remember to fill out the score sheet fully, your full stats will be recorded, but if your sheet is incomplete we will request you to complete it. If it’s not, they will be delayed until the following week.

I have not yet updated the sponsors page, though I will be dong so between now and next week. I will seek out your team’s sponsor’s online presence to provide a link where I can, but if they have a landing page for links I miss, please let me know. The sponsor page contains a logo and link, so if there’s also specific branding they want I can do that too, please have them email me. (Yes, I’m fully aware this is a page that will have very limited views, but it is what we can do, and I hope the goodwill shown by sponsors can be recognized, in whatever limited capacity.)

Night one highlights (this won’t be regular, but for fun, for this week at least…):

  • Dean Schiavo smoked the doubles with 5 total outs
  • 5 high outs for the night alone is amazing, but Robin Hill had the top two @ 109 and 88, Marshall McCully matched that 88, and Mark Neethling and Tom Lamarre finish the high finish list with 55 each!
  • Several 140’s are nice to see, but the high score of the week was 156 by Tom Lamarre
  • Battery Battery stunk the joint up (that’s me!) with Easyhome taking 8 of nine points in that match-up

See you all tomorrow, hope you had a great weekend!

Chris
