Gateway Men’s Dart League Rules
*With respect to game play, code of conduct and definitions, all rules and regulations will reflect those of the DRA (Dart Regulation Authority) unless otherwise stated in specific GMDL rules, in which case the GMDL will supersede the DRA ruling under all and any category. Only the rules that are applicable in the DRA guidelines will apply to the GMDL. In such a case that a ruling is under review or contested by a league member, the final decision will fall to the executive members of the GMDL.
- Players must have 50% of regular season games played or play the final 10 straight weeks prior to playoffs in order to qualify for playoff game play. Players with 50% of games played will qualify for trophies, prizes etc. Playing the final 10 weeks does NOT qualify you for prizes and/or trophies.
- We also recognize that teams sometimes struggle with being able to field a full team come playoff time and it’s important to be flexible when things like this happen. Therefore, exceptions may be made provided the approval has been voted on and approved by the GMDL executive.
- As long as you meet the criteria stated in rule #1, you can play for a different team other than your own, in the playoffs providing that both teams (the lending team and the team that is short players) agree to the player exchange.
- Practicing during playoffs can only occur on the board that they you last played on or on any designated practice board. Practicing on ANY board can only occur if you are NOT in current game play
- During 501 play, any player can only play two 501 games unless the team is short players, in which case the captain on the opposing team will decide on which two players will play the final game
- If you wish to postpone your final 501 game due to a player not being able to attend on time, if both teams agree, you may move onto your 1001 games and play your final 501 game anytime after the first 1001 game has commenced. The late player may not play any 1001 games until they have played their respective 501 game. The GMDL executive must be made aware of this prior to starting the 1001 games.
- During the playoffs, you must rotate your team members where it pertains to ‘diddling for the middle’. This will be done on the honour system. If any team does not adhere to the rotation and has a player diddle an unfair amount of times, said player will not be permitted to diddle for the remainder of the playoffs
- Any new player(s) to the league will be under probation for the first season of play. The GMDL executive reserves the right to make a decision (up to and including a ban or suspension) regarding any said player or team that is not adhering to the ‘code of conduct’ or ‘player responsibilities’ outlined in the DRA rules.
- Any exceptions or challenges to the stated rules by the GMDL or the DRA will be voted upon by executives. If the vote is unanimous, the ruling will stand. If the vote is split in any way, it will then be taken team captains for a vote. GMDL rules will be amended thereafter.
